Passover at Craigie Street Bistrot
April 20 and 22
You just know that Chef Tony Maws loves running Craigie Street Bistrot but - there’s one key exception -- it’s kept him away from his family’s Passover dinners. This is especially sad because Tony’s culinary muse was his Grandmother, Baba Hannah. The family celebrated every year around her holiday table, while honing their debate skills in the age-old battle over the best style of matzo ball - chewy and leaden or light and fluffy.
Finally this year…a breakthrough idea!. Channelling his Baba Hannah, on April 20 and 22, Tony will present a traditional Passover Dinner at Craigie Street (in addition to our à la carte menu)! The menu (shown below) draws on both Sephardic and Ashkenazy traditions. Each table will receive a Passover plate with traditional egg, salt water, parsley, and lamb shank, plus a printed story of Passover. Of course, everything will be prepared with a Bistrot twist and all will served with specially-chosen wines.. We bet Tony’s Baba Hannah would be proud.
